Jobeky Drums are a custom electronic drum kit manufacturer based in the UK. Their products are highly sought after and have received much critical acclaim in the music press.
They did originally have a website but it was very basic and clunky, and they found that it wasn't representing the company accurately. Their product ranges put them up against several multi-national companies (such as Roland and Yamaha) and they found that their website was not representing them favourably against such competition.
Their goals for this project were as follows
Our design brief was to produce a colourful and professional looking design for the site. We took influences from glossy magazines with a focus on clear presentation, colour and large amounts of screen space being devoted to images of the products.
Jobeky were very keen to implement a fully functional e-Store on their website. However, they did not want to take on the financial and administrative burden of running a completely secure shop themselves.
Therefore, we designed a two stage solution: We built their product catalogue in to the website and then integrated it with PayPal for the actual transactions. PayPal is a globally recognized secure payment system that allows users to pay for their goods using a variety of popular credit/debit cards and other transaction methods. Because we'd decided to use PayPal, we didn't have to incur the cost of developing a secure payment portal ourselves, and therefore were able to offer the same functionality for a dramatically reduced price.
When developing the website we made sure that key areas would be easy to update over time. Consequentially all the product pricing information, the news, etc can be changed almost immediately throughout the website and store. Further to this, Jobeky have signed up to our hosting & support scheme, guaranteeing them fast response times and peace of mind if anything were to go wrong with the website in the future.
